Imbue your Holy Days with meaning.  Join Us!
It seems incredible that another successful year is coming to an end and that we are planning our inspirational High Holy Days at the Westin Cypress Creek. We look forward to your joining TAO - The South Florida's Center for Jewish Renewal- on the upcoming High Holy Days. This is where your spirit awakens and you feel a heart connection. TAO services are joyful and loving, the complement you seek in your life.

Share your delight of TAO temple services with your friends and family. Invite them to be part of

Yom Kippur service and then to

enjoy our annual Break-the-Fast Dinner and Dance where you joyfully celebrate the New Year with friends and family

Yom Kippur is distinguished by the Yizkor Memorial Service. In Yizkor (May He Remember) prayers, we ask Hashem to remember the souls of our loved ones who passed. These include primarily family members: husbands and wives, parents and grandparents, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles and children.

Whether you will be worshiping with us or not, we believe you will wish to have a memory of your departed loved ones included in the Yizkor Scroll of Remembrance Book. Special prayers for those recorded will be recited by the Rabbis. There is also a
Yahrtzeit Plaque on which you can have their names inscribed. Details are in the article below.
Instead of just attending the High Holy Day services this year,  join TAO and relish in the Jewish Renewal experience throughout the entire year. High Holy Day tickets are included with membership, and you will benefit from the wide array of classes and programs as well as the loving warmth of our Community.

Community is giving and receiving, the circle of life, the joys of participation and belonging to a supportive family. Join us, pray with us, and support us. We need each other to blossom into our fullest potential.

We look forward to sharing the High Holy Day services with you.

It has been too long since I have been in the Broward area and years since I have been to services. I am being discharged from rehab and plan to return ASAP. I would love to be there in time for the High Holy Day services. If anyone knows of a handicapped accessible place I could move to ASAP, please let me know. I love and miss TAO and its beautiful, joyful community that feels like a family. Love and miss Wisdom Class and my sisters from WSG, especially. See you soon.

TAO's Adopted Family
An important part of living a Jewish life is to offer tzedaka and chesed - charity and loving kindness.  With this in mind, TAO has adopted a family through the Touch A Heart Foundation.
How can you help? You can make a call and say hello, or maybe stop by for a visit.  If possible, you could bring some groceries or cleaning supplies; maybe think of them when you see the 'Buy One Get One' deals at the local market. There is no gesture too small or too large for this needy family.

If you are interested in helping this family in any way, please call Renee at 954-888-1408 or by email at [email protected]

Children are welcome to pray, sing and dance with us.  When were sitting, please have children sit with you in a seat, not on the floor or in the aisles due to safety regulations.

We have also become aware that Yizkor and the Rabbi's sermon do not enhance your children's experiences. To assure everyone has the most connected holy day, please step outside with your young children or take them to the babysitting room during Yizkor and sermons. Doors are closed during sermons, so please enter and leave prior to or following the sermon.

Welcome to TAO

RM Shabbat

We are a warm expression of joyful Judaism, with meaningful ritual and universal Truths rooted in Torah, Kabbalah and other traditional & mystic Jewish sources.  We draw deeply from communal wisdom and spiritual traditions in accordance with the ongoing process of the living Torah.
TAO stands for Temple Adath Or.  Our founding rabbi, Rabbi Shoni Labowitz, used great intention in choosing this name, as in Hebrew it means People (or community) of Light.  And whether the members were drawn to the name, or simply just lived up to it, TAO is, indeed, a community of light.

Embark on a journey to your Jewish soul through music, dance, chanting and meditation.  This is not your parents' schul!  Come and experience the warmth of Jewish Renewal - and community - TAO style.

Saturday, September 21

7pm - Rabbi Marc and Paulina's home

Celebrate the "Season of Rejoicing" TAO style. Join TAO as we experience a communion with nature and commemorate the divine protection that we received after the departure from Egypt. As we sit communally in the Sukkah we are grateful for the abundance of the land and the harvest. We feel our vulnerability, yet we feel safe because we sense God's surrounding presence. We celebrate the simplicity of life's joys and experience intimacy, fun and mystical awakening as we come to recognize that the most important possession we must acquire and earn during our brief time on earth is the connection to God.

Please bring a parve or vegetarian dessert or fruit!.

RSVP to TAO office - 954-888-1408

Galia, Ocean and Kole Kerev Funds
In the spirit of Tzedakah, Paulina and Rabbi Marc set up three funds at TAO - a Galia fund, an Ocean fund and Kole Fund. When you share your sweetness to celebrate Galia's birthday (December 6), Ocean's birthday (June 28) or Kole's birthday (June 24) and other occasions, please donate to one of these funds rather than buying gifts for the children.  These funds are used to send toys and other needed items to Jewish and non-Jewish organizations that serve children, including Jafco.

Paulina and Rabbi Marc will be informed that you gifted their children and performed an act of Tzedakah in their honor.

Donate to Galia, Ocean or Kole fund for this tax deductible gift.

Sponsor An Oneg Shabbat Gut Shabbos

Let's face it.  We love our oneg.  We love it not only because we're Jews and we love to eat, we love it because it brings us together and creates a space for us to catch up with, and hug one another.

When you celebrate your birthday, anniversary, promotion; or say thank you to, or honor someone special by sponsoring a Friday night or Saturday Service Oneg Shabbat, your message of love is heard by all who are there and we all share in your joy.  (And the food is so much better!)  So  celebrate your simchas with your community!

(By the way, sponsoring an oneg is a great way to promote your business.  Rabbi Marc will personally acknowledge and thank you for your contribution at services and, it's advertised in this newsletter.)

Full and partial sponsorships are possible.
