From the Office of the Principal

On Tuesday, Andy Thibodeau came to Las Lomas to speak to our students and staff for our first school wide assembly in two years. Andy is a motivational speaker from Canada who has been delivering inspirational speeches for 22 years.

Please talk to your student about Andy's message regarding the importance of getting involved in school activities and engaging in positive relationships with each other.

Mornings with Matt

Please mark your calendar for Friday, September 12, for the first Mornings with Matt meeting at 9:00 am in the library classroom. All visitors must check in at the Attendance Office prior to attending the meeting.

Common Core Night - September 18, 7:00pm in the Library

I would like to invite our community to our Common Core Night on September 18 at 7:00pm in the library. As you may know, the State Board of Education adopted the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Math in 2010 and this school year is the first year for implementation. Please join us to get questions answered and to acquire a deeper understanding of the standards and of how learning and instructional practices will evolve as a result of the standards.

Matt Campbell, Principal

Back to School Night

Las Lomas Champions for Education

"I frequently speak about the importance of the partnership between the students, Las Lomas staff and parents and how each component needs to be engaged for the benefit of our students' education. This partnership allows our staff to provide a dynamic and well-rounded education experience at Las Lomas. Your financial support helps stabilize the cyclical and often unpredictable state funding mechanism for the schools.

I am inviting each member of our community to be a Champion for Education by supporting WCEF and the Las Lomas PTSA, both of which are dedicated to raising money that supports academic achievement at Las Lomas."

-Matt Campbell, Principal LLHS

Thank you to all who have made your 2014/15 donation! To date we have raised over $100,000 in our collaborative campaign with the PTSA.
