From the Office of the Principal

Hello Community,

I hope everyone enjoyed the first week of school and is ready to settle back into the familiarity of the school routine. Here are a couple of announcements and reminders for the upcoming weeks.

Back to School Night

Back to School Night is Thursday, September 11. As in year's past, I will convene with a community meeting at 5:45 pm at which time I will introduce admin, counseling staff and parent leaders associated with our parent groups. Classroom visits will follow beginning at 6:30 pm. I strongly encourage all families to attend Back to School Night so that you can have an understanding and gain insight to your student's education. The more informed you are about school, the more you will be able to support your child's educational progress. I hope to see everyone next Thursday.

Mornings with Matt

Mornings with Matt is a monthly parent gathering where school information is shared in a relaxed setting. I realize working parents may have a difficult time attending, but I welcome all parents to our monthly round table talks. Please join us at our first meeting on Friday, September 12 at 9 a.m. in the library to find out what is happening on campus and reconnect with community members.

Change in Office Procedures

Please be aware of the Las Lomas front office procedure change. Starting on Tuesday, September 2, all parents and community members must check in and conduct all business related to the school in the Attendance Office. The front doors to the Main Office will be locked and signage will direct all parents and community members to the attendance office.

Assembly Speaker

Please note that Andy Thibodeau will be presenting to our student body on Tuesday, September 9. His good natured spirit, relevant high school experiences and character building message should profoundly impact our students. Please engage in a conversation with your student next Tuesday about his message and what aspects of his message your son/daughter will try to incorporate this year.

Las Lomas Spirit Wear/Products

Las Lomas apparel and items can now be purchased online at Go Knights!

Enjoy your week,

Matt Campbell

Presidents' Message

Welcome to the 2014-15 school year!

We would like to extend a warm welcome back to school to each of you and a special welcome to those who are new to the Las Lomas High School community. I'm sure that you will find it an extraordinary place to be!

Las Lomas is extraordinary not only because of our exceptional teachers but also because of our community's shared desire to provide an outstanding education for our children. WCEF, (Walnut Creek Educational Foundation and PTSA  are two distinct but equally important organizations working together to raise funds for Las Lomas High School. Currently, the revenue limit from the State provides only 65% of the funds needed for our children's education at Las Lomas. WCEF and PTSA together help fill the gap. THANK YOU to all our wonderful donors who are helping WCEF, PTSAand PAF and Boosters meet their commitments to LLHS this school year. If you haven't yet participated, please make a donation to LLPTSA.

Join us at our first PTSA meeting, which will be held next Monday, September 8, 7:00pm in the library. You will have the chance to learn about the 2014-2015 goals and student activities.

Please mark your calendars for Back to School Night, which will be held on Thursday, September 11 at 5:30pm. Class Parent Information nights immediately follow Back to School Night.

Join parents at Mornings with Matt on Friday, September 12, 9:00am in the Library classroom a monthly meeting where Principal Matt Campbell discusses topics relating to the Las Lomas community. This is a great place to develop relationships within the high school and parent community.

Check out the PTSA website which has information on upcoming events, as well as partner links, school links & resources at

Looking forward to a wonderful year.

Our budget last year exceeded $120,000. With your generosity we can continue to fund our various programs such as Concussion Assessments, Fitness Trainer, and balls for all sports. We also want to encourage you to take advantage of your company's Matching Gifts Program to help insure we make our targets. Your company's HR department can tell you how to get started.
