Small business success story in Augusta
Allan Moorhouse is one happy small business owner. When he retired from corporate life eight years ago, he decided to start up a part-time business combined with his love of woodworking. Today his home renovation business, Wood Effects, is a full-time operation and still growing. It's so successful his son Greg (construction and civil engineering technician) has joined to help keep up with demand. They're thinking of incorporation.

"We've had a lot of repeat customers. If you do a good job for someone they'll tell two or three people," says Allan.  He has formed good relationships with other local businesses. Wood Effects specializes in kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and furniture. Learn more about this Leeds Grenville business on their facebook page. Wood Effects will also be at the upcoming Business Showcase and Expo in Prescott May 8-9. See details below under upcoming events.
