Municipal Election 2014
Counties Council has a blend of incumbents and newcomers

Monday's municipal election means there will be a new Counties Council in December. Sitting Warden Ron Holman, the incumbent mayor in the Township of Rideau Lakes, has been re-elected. Mr. Holman will return to Counties Council and will be joined by newly-elected members Doug Malanka, Township of Augusta; Patrick Sayeau, Township of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal; Joe Baptista, Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands; Dave Nash, Village of Merrickville-Wolford; and Robin Jones, Village of Westport.

Returning to council are acclaimed members Herb Scott, Township of Athens; Roger Haley, Township of Front of Yonge; and Jim Pickard, Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley. Also returning to the council table is David Gordon, who was re-elected to his second term in the Municipality of North Grenville.

The incoming Leeds Grenville Counties Council will be sworn in at the inaugural meeting on Wednesday, December 10, when a new warden for Counties Council will be elected.
