Launch Lab now taking appointments
The Grenville Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC) will be hosting Launch Lab, the provincially-funded Regional Innovation Centre for this area, to consult with and advise local businesses on a monthly basis, regardless of sector or stage of development, concerning any issue, challenge, or potential opportunity.The objective of the program is to support entrepreneurs and their companies to drive prosperity and job creation throughout the region.

Free consultation appointments for October 31st, November 28th, and December 19th can be scheduled by contacting the Grenville CFDC at [email protected]  

 

1000 Islands CDC will be offering Launch Lab the second Friday of every month beginning October 10. Contact Tom Russell at [email protected] or the quick contact on the 1000 Islands CDC website.

 

Valley Heartland CDC, servicing Lanark County and North Leeds, has Launch Lab new client intake and mentoring sessions every Thursday. Visit their Launch Lab webpage for more information.

Funding Opportunities
  
Celebrate Ontario 2015 provides project-based funding to new or existing Ontario festivals and events to enhance their programs, activities and services and support innovation that will lead to long-term improvement. Applicants need to show how their event will increase attendance, geographic reach, tourist visitation and expenditures, and improve in quality and sustainability. Your cash operating expenses of your most recently-held event is used to determine your funding category.
 
New for the 2015 program is an opportunity for existing events with cash operating expenses of $1 million or more to apply for multi-year funding spanning two fiscal years (2015-16 and 2016-17). The deadline to apply is November 6, 2014 at 5 p.mFor more information visit the Grants Ontario website.

North Grenville BR&E Alliance event attracts 200 business leaders
The September 24th event hosted by the BR&E Alliance and partners the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville and Business Development Bank (BDC) was the best attended to date with just over 200 registered guests. The keynote speaker was Business Development Bank Chief Economist Pierre Cleroux. He discussed emerging consumer trends.
