The 2015-2016 school year has been simply outstanding for MetroED. The California Career Pathways Trust grant and AB 104 for Adult Education has afforded us the opportunity to expand our new cutting edge programs to our community. Our new Mobile App Design & Computer Coding, Pharmacy Technology, and Sports Medicine & Kinesiology classes have opened up new college and career pathway options for students. We are proud to partner with Foothill instructors who teach our Pharmacy Technology class and offer Dual Enrollment college credit for our students.
Having TeenForce on our campus has really been a great resource for teachers and students. Tours of our facilities have been on-going since August. Click here for more information on how to book a tour.

Saratoga Fire Department Donates Fire Truck |
Thank you to the Saratoga Fire Department for donating a fire truck to SVCTE's Truck Mechanics program. Students in the Truck Mechanics class are excited about the new learning opportunities it will provide including the ability to work on a water pump. SVCTE Truck Mechanics and Pine Hill High School senior, Brandon Nash-Spangler, said the fire truck has a lot of miles and hours on it, which is similar to the types of vehicles they will work on in the 'real world.'
Truck Mechanics instructor, Mike Cortese, said the fire truck was used in the SkillsUSA Region 1 Competition, which was held at SVCTE on February 27 and on display at SVCTE's Open House on February 25.

1500 Students attended SVCTE College & Career Fair
SVCTE held its Annual College & Career Fair on February 3, and it was a huge success. Represented at the fair were community colleges, universities, trade schools, apprenticeships, military programs, and local businesses.
Medical Office Careers students, Alexcis Gomez and Marissa Chavez, said the fair provided helpful information that will help them plan for their future after high school.
Students came to the fair prepared with questions and were assigned a pre-and post-College Fair activity to complete. Each student also had a 'passport' to get stamped at different booths, which encouraged students to visit a variety of vendors and learn more about the variety of opportunities available to them.
