Embryos
When returning the EMBRYO DATA & REGISTRATION FORMS, please enclose the copies of the Embryo/CETA Transplant Forms. It aids the CSA staff if you write the tattoo of the resultant embryo calf beside the appropriate Recipient Dam on the form so the CSA registry staff can manually track the embryo activity for that particular flush.

Online Simmental.com Users: Entering Birth Information
There are two ways in which you can enter your calf records using the Online system. The examples below are assuming the Online user is entering 2016-born (D- year letter) calves.
 
Option 1:
My Herd
My Inventory
My Posted Inventory - 2016
  • by clicking on the word "Calving" to the right of the Dam in the list displayed on your screen
  • after clicking the "Save" button to save the calf record, hit the "Back" button located in the top-left area of your screen and continue with the next Dam
 Note: If you are entering multiple calf records (e.g. Twins, triplets, or embryos), you must use Option 2 below
 
Option 2:
My Performance
My Calving (2016 Display Year)
  • click the "Add" button to enter the calf information
  • click the "Save" button to save the record

Genotyping Incentive Program 
Through support from the Canadian Agriculture Adaptation Program (CAAP) the CSA is offering a reduced price on genotyping/ parentage tests for CSA members:
 

$30 per sample for GGP-LD Profile **Savings of $20**

$50 per sample for GGP-HD Profile  **Savings of $45**

 

DNA kits must be ordered through the CSA office.

The Saskatchewan Simmental Association is proud to be hosting this year's CSA Annual Convention from July 21st to the 24th, in Lloydminster, SK. There are many exciting events being planned for this weekend including the CSA AGM, YCSA National Classic and FCSF Foundation Auction.

Please keep your eyes open for the latest information, as this will be another great opportunity to take part in a leading national youth event!

FRIENDS OF CANADIAN SIMMENTAL FOUNDATION
 
Happy 2016 from the Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation. We are excited to see what 2016 will bring to the Foundation this year. Each year the Board of Directors has been diligent in growing the equity of the Foundation in order to support youth, education and research. We will continue to do this in 2016 through our Annual Fundraising Auction to be held in conjunction with the AGM of the Canadian Simmental Association, July 23, 2016 in Lloydminster, SK. The Auction Fundraising committee under the guidance of Co-chairs Deanne Young and Vanessa Noble will start the planning soon. If you would like to be a part of the committee please contact the Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation at [email protected].
