REGISTRY INFORMATION
THE HERD LETTER FOR 2015 IS "C"
Applications for Registration of Animals Born in Canada
In accordance to the CSA Bylaws, animals born in Canada cannot be registered in a foreign country prior to being registered in Canada.
Viewing SNP Results Using the Internet
The CSA staff have been receiving a number of inquiries regarding the status of DNA results for both registered & unregistered animals.
We would like to remind our members that they can inquire about the status of DNA tests that are being conducted for their animals by using either the Online System or the Pedigree Search function on the CSA website.
Depending on the animal that you are wanting to inquire about, Online users can obtain this information by logging into their system and navigating under either of the three areas listed below.
My Herd My Registered Males My Registered Females My Un-Registered Calves Example: "My Registered Males" - from the Online System Example: "Pedigree Search" - from the CSA Website Note: In order to use this inquiry method, the animal must be registered in the CSA Herd Book.

Member Submission Deadline Dates for Fall Evaluation
In order for data to be included in CSA Genetic Evaluations, it must be received by the CSA office by November 1st for the Spring Evaluation and by May 15th for the Fall Evaluation.
American Simmental Association - Fall Focus 2015

2015 YCSA National Classic
The 2015 YCSA National Classic was held in conjunction with the 2015 Canadian Simmental Association Convention and took place July 30- August 2, 2015 in Lindsay, Ontario. The show had strong registrations with 88 YCSA members competing throughout the weekend and 139 head of cattle. The Canadian Simmental Association's General Manager, Bruce Holmquist presented a cheque to the YCSA on behalf of T Bar C during the CSA's AGM Banquet in Lindsay, Ontario. YCSA's President, Sophie Wotten accepted the cheque on behalf of the Junior Association for $11,090.02!

FRIENDS OF CANADIAN SIMMENTAL FOUNDATION
It was an exciting night for our Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation Auction in Lindsay, ON. on August 1st. The donations to this year's auction were exceptional. The lead off lot of the donation heifer from Elm Tree Farms, the Wotten Family brought a new high of $22,840.00 through a Dutch auction. The luck winners of the heifer was Lewis Farms, Spruce Grove, AB.

The remaining lots were all very much in demand. We had buyers from across Canada, Australia and Panama. When the final lot was sold, the 2015 auction for the Foundation brought in a total of $102,256.00. Thank you so very much to all of our generous donators, bidders, and purchasers. Also to the committee that worked on this year's auction: Ron Nolan, Danielle Sullivan, Keitha Harris Donovan, Sophie Wotten, Sara Van Sickle, Charles Burns, Mark Shologan and Deanne Young. We look forward to the 2016 event in Lloydminster, SK. The proceeds from the auction will help support youth, education and research projects.

During the 2015 YCSA National Classic in Lindsay, Ontario the Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation presented a cheque to the Young Canadian Simmental Association. FCSF President Ken Lewis, and FCSF Auction Co-chair Deanne Young presented the cheque on behalf of the Foundation to YCSA Board members Paige Holmquist, Dylan Foley, Cooper Snider, Sophie Wotten, Craig Matthews and Krista Whalen. This donation was made possible through proceeds from the Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation Auction. The FCSF will also be awarding $9,000 in scholarships this year. Full Fleckvieh Bred Heifers on Request
A request from Mexico is in place for 30 - 35 Full Fleckvieh bred heifers. Requirements include that they be from German or Austrian genetics, horned and with eye pigmentation.
