The Ontario Simmental Association is proud to be hosting this year's CSA Annual Convention from July 31st to August 2nd, in Lindsay, Ontario at the Lindsay Exhibition. There are many exciting events being planned for this weekend including the CSA AGM, YCSA National Classic and FCSF Foundation Auction.

REGISTRY INFORMATION

THE HERD LETTER FOR 2015 IS "C"

 

 Imported Animals

Imported animals shall be registered with the same name as shown on the certificate of registration issued in the county from which they were imported. If the name of the imported animal has a herd prefix or name that is identical to one registered with the Association, the Association has the right to change the herd prefix or name as necessary.

 

Change of Animal's Name

The Association may approve a change in a registered animal's name provided there are no registered progeny. An application for change of name must be completed and signed by first owner and presented to the Association with the animal's Certificate of Registration and the prescribed fee. If a herd prefix was used in the original name, it must also be used as a herd prefix in any suggested change.


 

Online User Support: Requesting Buyer Numbers from the CSA Office 

We would like to commend our Online Users for the impeccable detail that is demonstrated when submitting their "Requests For Buyer Numbers". While processing your requests we have noticed that some users are submitting multiple requests for the same buyer. Only one request per individual buyer is necessary. The CSA Registry staff process your requests as they arrive in the [email protected]  inbox. Therefore, if your requests are sent after 4:00pm (MDT - Mountain Daylight Time), you will receive an email reply the following day.

Genetic Evaluation

The data for the fall 2015 genetic evaluation has been submitted, expect new EPDs in July.

 

Member Submission Deadline Dates for Fall Evaluation

In order for data to be included in CSA genetic evaluations, it must be received by the CSA office by November 1st for the Spring Evaluation and by May 15th for the Fall Evaluation.

 

American Simmental Association - Fall Focus 2015

This year the 2015 Fall Focus will take place September 14th-17th in Gettysburg, PA. For more information, or to register for the "Confidence Builds Success" Conference, visit the ASA's website here.

 

Beef Improvement Federation Annual Conference

Representation of the CSA attended the BIF Conference the beginning of June in Biloxi, MS. At this event representation was also in attendance during the International Genetic Solutions Meeting.
