GARTH SWEET SIMMENTAL FOUNDATION AUCTION

The 2013 Garth Sweet Simmental Foundation (GSSF) Auction was a tremendous success with a new record amount of $53,800 being raised. To date the GSSF has raised a total of $140,258.50 through eight charity auction events.

The Friends of the Foundation award was given to R Plus Simmentals - Marlin LeBlanc and Family of Estevan, Saskatchewan.  Another feature of this year's auction was the usage of a New Holland tractor and bailer donated by New Holland Agriculture.

Thank you to all the sponsors, bidders and buyers of the Garth Sweet Simmental Foundation Auction items. It is because of your generous support that this event continues to be such a success..

The proceeds from this year's auction will be used to support CSA research and development projects, youth scholarships and the Young Canadian Simmental Association program.

BREED IMPROVEMENT

Semen Needed

With the transition to SNP parentage and to use within our project work, the CSA is looking to test as many historical sires as possible.   Many sires have already been tested, but there are many more that we still need to SNP test. Click Here to see the list of sires that are our highest priority that haven't been tested yet. If there are other animals which you would be willing to donate for testing please contact Jeff Hyatt at the CSA office or at [email protected]

Fall Calvers

If you are a Western Canada producer and have either fall born calvers or sell bulls to a commercial producer that has fall calvers, please contact Jeff Hyatt at the CSA office or at [email protected]
