GARTH SWEET SIMMENTAL FOUNDATION AUCTION - JULY 16, 2013
This year's Annual Garth Sweet Simmental Foundation Auction will be held on Tuesday evening, July 16th, in conjunction with the CSA AGM Banquet in Calgary, AB.
Through the generosity of our donators we have a very exciting offering for the 2013 auction. Leading off this year's sale is a bred heifer donated by our 2013 Friend of the Foundation -Marlin LeBlanc and Family of R Plus Simmentals. Tickets will be auctioned on this heifer at the sale. Each ticket will be valued at $20. Once the bidding is completed one lucky ticket will be drawn and the winner will be the new owner of this heifer. If you are not able to attend, you may contact one of the representatives to place an order for tickets.
New Holland Agriculture has generously donated a 150 hour rental of a New Holland Tractor and Round Baler Combo. Wherever you are in Canada, New Holland will ship to the dealership closest to the winning bidder, the use of this unit is available during 2013 or 2014.
Some of the additional highlights of the auction include a condo rental in Las Vegas during NFR donated by Bouchard Livestock International and semen on the high selling Simmental bulls at public auction in 2013. There is a signed Saskatchewan Roughriders jersey with two tickets to a regular season game donated by DLMS. We have not forgotten the young people with several lots for them including a Club Cadet donated by Selmac Sales, and a child's riding Fendt from Pentagon Farm Centre.
The offering also includes art work, jewelry, a package from Elkhorn Resort (location of the 2014 AGM & National YCS Classic), semen, gift baskets, advertising opportunities and sports event tickets. We encourage you to participate in the auction and support the youth of our breed.
This auction will be broadcast live and internet bidding is available thanks to Direct Livestock Marketing Service (www.dlms.ca). If you are not able to be at the auction in person, we invite you to participate online, or contact one of the sale day numbers below.
Funds raised are used to support CSA research and development projects, youth scholarships and the Young Canadian Simmental Association program. Thank you to all donators, bidders and buyers of the GSSF Auctions. It is because of your generous support that this event is such a great success.

BREED IMPROVEMENT
Semen Needed
With the transition to SNP parentage and to use within our project work, the CSA is looking to test as many historical sires as possible. Many sires have already been tested, but there are many more that we still need to SNP test. Click Here to see the list of sires that are our highest priority that haven't been tested yet. If there are other animals which you would be willing to donate for testing please contact Jeff Hyatt at the CSA office or at [email protected]
Fall Calvers
If you are a Western Canada producer and have either fall born calvers or sell bulls to a commercial producer that has fall calvers, please contact Jeff Hyatt at the CSA office or at [email protected].
