Wisconsin Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) 2013 Results Available
submitted by Tracy Herlitzke, WISH Center Director
 | Executive Summary 2013 WI YRBS |
I could not think of a better place to get started with making your school healthy and safe than taking a look at the Youth Risk Behavior Survey. This survey has been conducted in our state every two years since 1993. Many local school districts and counties rely on the their local survey results to assess, plan, and evaluate school and community health. We are able to compare to state and national trends.
Learn more about conducting a local, free, online survey in your school or community on the WI DPI website.

"Talk. They Hear You." Underage Drinking Resource for Parents
There is a whole series of information on this SAMHSA website for parents to talk to their kids about underage drinking.
There is an interactive parent learning tool where parents can practice talking to their kids about the dangers of alcohol.
Using avatars, parents practice bringing up the topic of alcohol with a teen; learn what questions to ask; and get ideas for keeping the conversation going long after the initial talk has ended.
