The movie PAY IT FORWARD has inspired ANSWER Alums (AAA) to change Nepal by sponsoring ANSWER students themselves! Find out how this one idea is changing Nepalese society.
With the support of ANSWER sponsor, Jim Reay in Phoenix, an ad hoc T-shirt committee has designed and manufactured AAA polo shirts which enhances their identity and solidarity, as well as generates income for AAA activities.

If you haven't seen the movie, you might enjoy seeing how Hollywood has created a movement far beyond the silver screen with Pay It Forward. See the trailer above.

Sponsor Challange: It Just Takes One

How can we maintain the momentum?  Most of you reading this are already sponsoring one or more students, and some of you have been to Nepal and met your student(s) - we thank you all for your generous support!  If you are not yet a sponsor we ask you to consider becoming one now, and if you are a sponsor, we would like you to ask one friend or relative to join you and become a sponsor.

It Just Takes One request from each of you and we would double the number of students overnight. The road to sustainability could be met in half the time! Instead of ten years (2024), it could take just five or six to have 1200 employable graduates!

Will you join the It Just Takes One campaign and bring in another sponsor?  Below are a few of our many candidates. There are many bright, disadvantaged students in need of sponsorship: click here to view all of the students. To protect their identify you will need to enter the password: nepal2014

Click the button above and forward this to a friend or family member. Ask them to contact Earle Canfield at jecan314@gmail.com if they want to sponsor any of these students, or if they have questions. Let's see how many more students we can educate as we approach the
holidays!

2014 Benefit Concert

Grand Rapids, MI, Sept 28.

Those of you who sponsor a student know 100% of your sponsorship goes to directly support the education of students - to cover tuition, books, fees, school uniforms and supplies.  ANSWER's Annual Benefit Concert raises a significant portion of the administrative funds needed to cover our overhead, including our 5-6 full time staff members in Nepal, a part-time administrator in the US (Lisa!), and maintaining the office and equipment in Kathmandu.

The 2014 ANSWER Benefit was a great success; raising over $9,000!

Wayne Glatz, an ANSWER board member, recorded portions of this year's benefit to share with you. (Please take a moment to simply enjoy the performance and reflect how ANSWER not only fundraises, but gives back to our communities here as well as in Nepal.)

The venue for this year's performance was The Ballroom at the City Flats Hotel in downtown Grand Rapids, and as you will see, the ambiance is stunning.  Tables of hors d'oeuvres and auction items were placed around the periphery of the stage, orchestra seats and tables.

Our illustrious board member David Lockington, Music Director of the Grand Rapids Symphony, has for the past ten years been organizing the music programs for these events. The caliber of music is top notch, varied, and imaginatively presented.

The performers included the String Academy of Grand Rapids with children as young as 6-7 years old, the Axiom Brass Quintet, and Leah Ivory's Also African Drum Ensemble.

Appropriately, the closing number was a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace by the children and the Axiom Brass Quintet.

We thank our corporate sponsors United Bank of Michigan and Mika Meyers Beckett and Jones PLC, as well as those of you who came or donated in your absence.

Thank you all for supporting ANSWER!
