Jackie Paglierani of Grand Rapids, MI thought her ANSWER experience was "mind boggling!" "Before I left I had no idea where these students came from or the life they led. Watching Earle talk with the children about their future, visiting with the kids, seeing their eyes light up when they met us and seeing the interaction of the Social Welfare Club helped put it all in perspective for me.

"Before I went I couldn't understand why my student, Sandeep, who was raised in a goat shed by his aged father and deaf mute mother, would tell me RICE was his favorite food. Now I know that most Nepalis eat two meals of Dal Baht (lentils and rice) a day. Many never experience other foods. I have so much more empathy for the life he leads, having seen the struggles many Nepalis endure."

"Sandeep was totally surprised by my visit, but certainly the most poignant moment of my trip was that he actually recognized me right away and ran across the room to give me a big hug. I am so proud that Sandeep passed his SLC exams (critical for the continuation of school) in the first division! This was truly a trip of a lifetime."
