DSHS SEEKING BUSINESS PARTICIPATION IN HOMECOMING PARADE
Dripping Springs High School is expanding the Homecoming celebration and the Homecoming Parade by asking for local and area business participation. The Homecoming Parade will be held on October 24th. They would like to get as many people and businesses involved as possible in an effort to make this a new tradition of pride for our schools and the community. TRICK OR TREAT SO OTHERS CAN EAT
Boy Scout Troop 101 is planning our 4th Annual Halloween Food Drive on Wednesday, Oct. 31st. We will be concentrating our efforts in Belterra and Highpoint Communities. All donations will benefit the Dripping Springs Helping Hands Food Pantry. We need your help to make this Trick or Eat Drive a success! FOOD FUNDRAISER BENEFITS HELPING HANDS FOOD PANTRY
Food pantries are always in need and it seems with our current economy, the demand is even greater. The Helping Hands Food Pantry is no exception.
Beginning Monday, October 15th to Monday, November 19th Dripping Springs residents will have the opportunity to donate non-perishable food items, school supplies and toiletries at six locations. Boxes can be found conveniently located inside each business. Local Rotarians have created the boxes and will be distributing them to the following locations:

Herbal Delivery Systems 101 - Oct. 25th @ 6:30pm
New to herbs or just curious about all the different ways you can receive herbs into your body? Always wondered what the difference between a flower essence and a tincture is? This class will be an overview of 7 different ways to take herbs internally, as well as topical. We will cover Teas, Tinctures, Syrups, Capsules, Salves, Flower Essences & Oils. This will prepare us for future classes as we break down each system into it's own individual class. Tea & Handouts will be provided. $25/class; cash only. "NY research firm launches Dripping Springs Office" was a headline in the Austin Business Journal on October 2. The location at 31900 Ranch Road 12 is West Hill Center Business Center owned by DS Chamber member Werth Properties Management, LLC.
ABI Research of Oyster Bay, NY is the headlined company with additional offices in Singapore and Europe. The ABI Research lease was negotiated by Patti Bridges of Bridges Real Estate Group who is also marketing West Hill Center. Hill Country Insurance and Grande Equipment are the other Dripping Springs Chamber members who office at West Hill Center.
West Hill Center is part of Dripping Springs North encompassing recently developed locations for Whisenant & Lyle, Affinity Labs of Texas, Hagy Homes, H & H Pool & Tile and soon Geschke Group Architects. FALL INTO DOWNTOWN
The City of Dripping Springs, The Dripping Springs Community Foundation (DSCF) and The Barber Shop are working together to bring awareness of the upcoming Mercer Street Improvement Project by hosting a Mercer Street Block Party, Saturday, October 27, 2012, from 1:00 PM to 6:00PM downtown Dripping Springs on Mercer Street. This will be a free family friendly event with food, live music, children's area and exhibit tent with information on the Mercer Street Improvement Project.

WILD WEST FEST
Step back into history as the 4th Annual Wild West Fest returns on Saturday, October 20th at Dripping Springs Ranch Park!
Don't miss this year's line-up with spectacular events for all ages! The daylong celebration and family fun day offers western activities and other entertainment sure to please the local crowds and visitors to Dripping Springs. Day-time activities include an equestrian playday, a ranch rodeo, barrel races, a ride-the-hide race and goat show, arts and crafts vendors, a chili and salsa cook-off, pumpkin carving contest, an old fashioned pie recipe contest, kids' activities, heritage games and a haunted house. Kick up your heels and round out the activities at the dance to start after the ranch rodeo.
With an expected crowd of 3,000 people throughout the day, the Wild West Fest is a showcase venue to advertise your company and support Harrison Ranch Park. Event sponsors and in-kind donations are welcome and sponsorships are available at various levels of support from $50 to $1,000. Sponsorship dollars and donations will help provide direct festival expenses and contribute to the new amenities being built at the Park.
