Book sales of "Around Dripping Springs" benefit non-profits (on sale at Christmas on Mercer, Dec. 3)

Have you ever wondered how Dripping Springs got its name? Did you know that the Tonkawa Indians, native to the area were cannibals, or that the Wells Fargo bank building in town was originally a movie theater? Our area has a rich history filled with fun facts and unique stories. For example, selling BBQ was one of 54 ideas Salt Lick founder Thurman Roberts and his family came up with to earn a living after Thurman quit his job to work closer to home. The history of the Salt Lick is just one of the interesting people, places, and events featured in the new book Around Dripping Springs - a pictorial history of Dripping Springs, Driftwood, and Henly - now available for pre-order on Amazon! Be sure to vote for the Kindle edition on Amazon, too! An entertaining and easy read, Around Dripping Springs is filled with nearly 200 photos - most of them historic - and makes a great gift for area residents past, present, and future. Around Dripping Springs will also be sold at Barnes & Noble in the 'Texas' section after the November 14 release date. The Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center will directly benefit from book sales proceeds, as will the Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead, the Heritage Circle, the DS Historic Preservation Commission, and the Hays County Historical Commission. So start your holiday shopping for all of your Dripping family, friends, and neighbors with a book about our community that  benefits our community!
