Extra Rehearsals
During the week of June 17th regular classes will not be held. On Monday, June 17th extra rehearsal may be called. Extra rehearsals will be posted at www.thesurgedancecenter.com and will be emailed to all parents. Check your email and the SDC website on Sunday, June 16th to see if your childs class has an extra rehearsal.
Dress Rehearsal at Sumner PAC
Tuesday, June 18th
- Wicked Cast - Check in at 4:00pm Pick up at 5:30pm
- Broadway Babies- Check in at 5:15pm pick up 6:00pm
- Late Show- Check in at 5:45pm pick up 6:45pm
- Hairspray- Check in at 6:30pm-pick up 7:30pm
- Spring Show Finale- Check in at 7:15pm, pick up at 7:30pm

Parent Volunteers 
Be backstage where the action is! We still parent volunteers to help with classes backstage. Parent volunteers will need to be backstage for dress rehearsal and the both shows.
We would like two parent volunteers for each class level pre-3.
We would like 1 volunteer for each level 4 class.
We would like 3 room volunteers for level 5-6.
We would like 2 male volunteers for the boys dressing room.
We would like 4 Volunteer ushers.
For the June show, parent volunteers will receive free flowers to give their dancer!

Dress Rehearsal & Show Guidelines for
"DEFY GRAVITY"
Dress Rehearsal
- Dress/tech rehearsal is a closed rehearsal to viewers except for staff and parent volunteers.
- Although there are several bathrooms backstage, please be sure your younger children use the restroom before check in for dress rehearsal and the show.
- Dancers should check at dress rehearsal at their specified time.
- Only parent volunteers with backstage passes will be allowed backstage at the show and dress rehearsal. This policy is in place with the safety of your children and the security of the dressing rooms in mind.
- Please settle your account at SDC before dress rehearsal.
Shows
- No flash photography during the show.
- Video taping is not allowed for the spring show.
- There maybe chemical fog, strobe, and/or snow used in the show.
- Please do not bring any food or drink inside the theater.
- Dancers in level 3-6 should check in at 6:30pm for the show.
- Dancers in level pre-2 should check in at 6:45pm for the show.
- Please label all dancers costumes clearly.
- At intermission, pre dance children will be dismissed to their parents at the check in table. The pre-dancers do not need a ticket to enter the theater to view the rest of the show as long as they sit on a parents lap.
- Pre Dance classes will only be in Show 2 (Thurs show)
- Level 1-6 dancers will participate in the curtain call at the end of the show. These dancers can be picked up at the check in area after the show is complete.
- You can pick up your child before the end of the show if you need to leave early. Please print a Early Release Form complete it, and return it to the front desk before the show.

Memorabilia!
You can order a "DEFY GRAVITY" tee shirt, and/or message hearts for the program! Tee shirts will have all the dancers names on the back. You can choose between a long sleeve or short sleeve tee shirt. Pictures and details to come!

Flowers For Your Dancer!
Give flowers to your dancer at the show! All proceeds benefit the Voltage Team. Bouquets are $8.00 each.

Class Time/ Practicing at Home 
Attending class regularly is more important than ever! Juggling homework and a busy family schedule can be difficult. Please make regular, on time attendance a priority. You are welcome to video tape your childs routine so that they can practice at home with your help. Private lessons are also available if you would like your child to have extra one on one attention! Speak directly with your childs instructor.

Costumes 
Students have been measured for their costumes in their classes. You will be receiving your costumes in early Mid May.
If your child is a lead character, you will be receiving costume guidelines shortly.
Details like tights color, shoe color, and hairstyle will be sent in an email to follow.

 "DEFY GRAVITY" Tickets go on sale Sunday, MAY 5 at 9am - Online Ticket Sales through Brown paper tickets. No standing in line to get tickets!
- Small service fee per ticket,
- All tickets are $14.00 presale and $15.00 at the door. There is a small service fee per ticket.
- 25 ticket limit per purchase.
- Reserved seating.
- Children over 5 years old need their own seat.

Reminders
- Please wear hair up for class. We have free hair ties at the front desk if you forget.
- Please be on time for class.
- Parents, encourage stretching in the lobby. Discourage tumbling and tricks.
- Students please remember to throw away your trash at the end of the night.
- For ballet shoes: It is helpful when the drawstring ties are tied to the correct place and cut off.
