We are in our winter squash season now. We get asked about Squash varieties all the time so this year, we gave our Squash some name tags!

Rich in nutrients, squash is affordable and comes in many shapes, sizes and colours. It's a great addition to fall meals and you can substitute one type of squash for another making it very versatile.

Squash is a low fat, low calorie choice and contains very low amounts of sodium. It's a great source of beta carotene and potassium, and vitamin C. You can roast squash seeds for a nutritious snack too.

Squash is prone to bruising easily, so handle carefully! Store thick-skinned squash in a cool, dark place and it will last for a month or more. The thin-skinned squash varieties will keep in the fridge for up to five days.
