2014 "Salute to Small Business"

The 2014 "Salute to Small Business" luncheon is NEXT Thursday, June 12 at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel. This annual event, co-hosted by the Arlington Chamber, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Small Business Development Center, will recognize the Outstanding Small Business Champions of the Year from a 72-county area. The Arlington Chamber will also award its Small Businesses of the Year.

   

Returning to emcee the event is a DFW TV celebrity, Scott Murray. The keynote discussion features native Texan, John Avila, Jr. Retired Army Brigadier General, Mr. Avila managed The Ballpark in Arlington project and in 1994 bought the Thos. S. Byrne construction company that today exemplifies the highest industry standards.

 

This year's event includes the annual luncheon, seminars before and after lunch and an "Expo" of services focused on small business.

On June 12, Chamber to Recognize 
2014 Small Businesses of the Year

The Arlington Chamber announced four recipients for the 2014 Small Businesses of the Year.

 

For-Profit Category:

Nonprofit Category:

Veteran-Owned Category:

  • IKids Pediatric Dentistry

City of Arlington and AISD Supplier Prospect Meeting
The purchasing staff from both the City of Arlington anCity of Arlingtond the Arlington ISD will host their "Monthly Supplier Meeting" this Friday, May 6 @ 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Central Library.

 

This informal meeting will provide suppliers AISDwith a general overview of the purchasing process and  information about current and upcoming bidding opportunities. Click here for more details.

Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County 16-21 Year Old Opportunities
The Workforce Solutions youth program gives youth an opportunity to participate in a broader program that includes tutoring, limited summer employment opportunities, support services, mentoring, and follow-up services that can include alternative education, paid or unpaid work experience, occupational skills training, leadership development and counseling. Interested 16-21 year olds may complete the form found here.
