Chamber After Hours is a come-and-go event that provides the opportunity for networking, building relationships and exchanging business cards with prospective clients and customers. It is also a terrific way to introduce a prospective member to the Chamber.

This month's Chamber After Hours will be Tuesday, May 28 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Alley Cats Entertainment Center. Click here to register.

State Legislators Budget Deal

CapitolAfter a week of tension and acrimony between houses, state legislators have reportedly reached a deal on the budget, one that might eliminate the need for a special session (at least for now). A legislative update is posted here.

Arlington Chamber to Recognize Small Businesses of the Year THIS THURSDAY

Bob Moore Construction, Inc. and Girls Inc. of Tarrant County are the Chamber's recipients of the 2013 Small Businesses of the Year. Selected for their achievements, innovation, response to adversity and contributions to aid community-oriented projects, the businesses will be recognized at the May 23 "Spirit of America: 2013 Salute to Small Business." Click here for more details.

Taxing Internet Sales
Competition between brick-and-mortars retailers and ONLINE TAXInternet sellers has often been considered uneven, since most online businesses don't charge local sales tax. Does this situation affect your business? The Chamber wants to know. A proposal before Congress is considered by many the best shot at leveling the playing field.
