Tarrant County Judge B. Glen Whitley will present the "State of the County" luncheon address to Arlington Chamber of Commerce Thursday, April 18 at Hilton Arlington.
  
Whitley, a member of the county commissioners court since 1997, serves as the head administrative official for the county government, which has more than 4,000 employees and locations in all areas of Tarrant County. The county is the main agency responsible for the administration of the criminal justice, the civil and family court systems, public health and is a significant player in local transportation decisions. In recognition of the contributions made by small businesses to American society, every year since 1963, the President of the United States has designated a week during the spring as National Small Business Week.

 

This event is co-hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration and North Texas Small Business Development Center. Both public and private small business supporters will be honoring North Texas businesses, large and small, at the event. The Arlington Chamber will also award its Small Businesses of the Year at the event. The luncheon is Thursday, May 23 at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel.

ATIP Foundation Includes
The Center For Innovation 

Nine technology-based economic development organizations from across the United States have joined forces to form the Agricultural Technology Innovation Partnership (ATIP) Foundation, which will facilitate public-private research and technology licensing partnerships, and promote commercialization of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) research outcomes from the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), and its other scientific agencies.

Workforce Solutions Job Fair

Leadership Arlington
Accepting Youth Applications
Leadership Arlington is looking for applicants for the next class of Youth Leadership Arlington. This is an excellent program that gives Juniors in High School the opportunity to learn about a variety of areas in the city, including Government, Economic Development, and Arts and Culture, while building leadership skills.

 

Student applicants must attend Arlington ISD or live in the Arlington city limits. The student must also be entering their junior year in the fall of 2013.  To download an application click here.
