The Women's Alliance of the Arlington Chamber is holding a "Tiara Tuesday" at Zio's Italian Kitchen tomorrow from 5:00-7:00 pm. "Tiara Tuesday" is a wonderful opportunity for women and their friends to network, learn about women in the Arlington business community AND HAVE FUN! Wear a tiara - you just might win a prize.

At the Thursday, June 7 "Salute to Small Business," the sell-out crowd of 320+ gathered to recognize the Arlington Chamber's 2012 Outstanding Businesses of Year. Graham Associates and SafeHaven of Tarrant County were honored for their achievements in the marketplace. Eight other businesses from North Texas received awards from the SBA in this annual event celebrating National Small Business Week. See all award winners here.

Chamber Provides Arlington Voting Updates |

Early voting for the District 1 City Council runoff election begins today and runs through June 19. A list of early voting and election-day voting locations, along with information about the two candidates remaining on the ballot, is available on www.voteforarlington.com. The runoff date for the City Council election is June 23.
The runoff election in the Democratic Primary for the newly created Congressional District 33 is July 29. We will post early voting dates for that runoff after the council election concludes later this month. |

Frustrated by having just gone through the ritual of paying this year's Texas franchise taxes? A state committee heard from people from all over the state with similar concerns at a hearing in Austin last Tuesday. Unfortunately, they also heard that the franchise tax - set up to funnel money to public schools - isn't bringing in as much as necessary, or as much as originally projected.
