2015 CMS Quality Conference

The Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) is hosting a series of presentations during this year's CMS Quality Conference. The conference will bring together CMS quality partners, including states, experts, and other stakeholders from various CMS programs, including the Medicaid/CHIP grant programs, Quality Improvement Networks, and the Office of Clinical Standards and Quality. The conference will include many sessions related to quality in Medicaid and CHIP programs, which will cover topics with a focus on real-world projects and initiatives that drive improvement. Conference general admission is free.

Quality Innovations in Medicaid/CHIP: Past, Present & Future
Tuesday, December 1, 2015, 10:30am-12:00pm CST
 
This session highlights CMCS' history, recent accomplishments in Medicaid/CHIP quality, and looks forward to future opportunities for continued quality improvement. Hear from state and national leaders in Medicaid/CHIP quality, and share in the celebration of Medicaid's 50th anniversary and the 18th anniversary of CHIP.

 
Maternal and Infant Health Roundtable
Tuesday, December 1, 2015, 4:00-5:30pm CST
 
This session will explore challenges in ensuring access to high quality prenatal, postpartum, and interconception care, opportunities for Medicaid agencies to build partnerships and promote maternal and infant health, and initiatives that have demonstrated promising results in quality improvement. Hear from state and national leaders in perinatal health care quality, and have the opportunity to ask questions.
 
Measuring Access and Quality for Newly Eligible Medicaid Adults
Wednesday, December 2, 2015, 9:30-10:30am CST
 
Thirty states have implemented the expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act to cover adults under age 65 with incomes up to 133% of the Federal Poverty Level. As of August 2015, about 13.6 million newly eligible individuals have enrolled in Medicaid and or CHIP since Oct 2013. This session will explore some of the challenges and opportunities to measuring access and quality for this population, discuss findings from recent studies, and identify approaches that can be used to assess the extent to which new enrollees are getting access to quality care. Hear from state and national leaders in access to high quality health for adults, and have the opportunity to ask questions.
