Help Lakemoor Fest - Donate Today!

We are proud of the evolution of Lakemoor Fest over the years. Each year we thrive to make improvements to Lakemoor Fest for the enjoyment of our residents and guests. This Fest is paid for mostly by sponsorships and generous donations from our residents and general public with very little reliance on taxpayer funds

It is our goal to bring back the fireworks on the water portion of our show but we need your help. Please support our new campaign "Get a Bang for your Buck". This campaign seeks the donations and support from our residents and guests to enhance our show and keep it the best fireworks show in the area. We are looking to raise $5000.00 from community donations.

This year marks the 19th anniversary of Lakemoor Fest, which started in 1995 as a small community event to bring residents and neighbors together. Since then, the festival has grown to include carnival rides and games, food vendors and beer tent, crafts, bags tournament, fishing derby, and live bands and entertainment.

Lakemoor Fest will be held at Morrison Park (233 Rand Road) on Friday August 8th through Sunday August 10th. The highlight of festival is the fireworks display, which is one of the best displays in Lake and McHenry County. The fireworks are scheduled for 9:00 PM on Saturday August 9th, and the festival is expected to attract over 30,000 people over the weekend.

Admission to festival is free and the hours of operations are; Friday August 8th from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Saturday August 9th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM, and Sunday August 10th from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

In addition to four live bands, Lakemoor Fest also has wristband specials for carnival rides on Friday August 8th from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM and Sunday August 10th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Click below for full details.

Village Eases Overnight Parking Restrictions

The Village of Lakemoor has passed an ordinance easing overnight parking restrictions on Village streets in certain areas. The easing of overnight parking restriction will affect Lakemoor Farms and the Lily Lake Subdivisions. The Village Board acted on this issue brought forth by several requests by residents with growing family members who now are of driving age. In addition, the Village Board took this opportunity to address some of the parking and traffic issues with our highly successful Lakemoor Fest by the installation of permanent parking restriction signs.

Details of permitted overnight parking:

  • Overnight parking of vehicles is permitted on specified streets when the vehicle is under the gross weight rating of under six thousand (6,000) pounds and not exceeding 20 feet in length. Recreational vehicles, boats, personal watercraft, trailers, all-terrain vehicles, off highway motor cycles and inoperable vehicles are not eligible for overnight parking. Even though a motor vehicle may not qualify for an overnight parking, the Village may nevertheless issue an overnight parking permit for a motor vehicle owned by and issued to an employee of a federal, state, or local governmental agency for their use. Overnight parking is not allowed for any commercial vehicles.
  • No vehicle of any type being used for the purpose of transporting any volatile, toxic, gaseous, explosive or flammable material shall be parked or left unattended on any public street or public right-of-way for any period of time, except while being actively loaded or unloaded, or while such vehicle is being used in connection with any work or service being performed within the immediate area.
  • Vehicle must display a valid Lakemoor Village Sticker.
  • There shall be no parking on any Village streets after a snow fall of more than two (2") inches or more or within twelve (12) hours of snow fall.

The Importance of Weather Radios

One of the most important things that you can have as part of your emergency safety kit is a weather radio. The National Weather Service provides the forecasts and severe weather alerts that you hear on it. With an all hazards weather radio, you not only get the latest severe weather information, but it lets you know about environmental and public safety emergencies like amber alerts and chemical spills. A great reason to have one of these radios is the battery backup. That means if severe weather strikes and the power goes out, it may be the only way for you to find out the latest weather information. Another great thing about this particular radio is that you can program it for just the county you live in or the county you live in plus all of the surrounding counties.
