New Village Logo and Motto Adopted

As the Village's continues to change its image and vision for the future, the Village Board adopted a new town logo and motto on March 13th. This new design promotes a corporate feel that is clean and strong with the right amount of illustration to elude a lake town environment. The adoption of the new logo and motto is the first step needed to market and brand the community and to give the Village a new identity.

Scholarship Opportunity

In 1999, Nicor came to the Village of Lakemoor offering a scholarship opportunity. The founder Ralph Brindise, a Lakemoor resident since 1977, was looking volunteering on the Village Board, and saw this as an opportunity to help out his community, as well as honor the memory of his mother, who had been a schoolteacher.  Our organization was started!

Several years later, in 2013, we decided to become a private scholarship fund. Our name became Lakemoor Scholarship Fund, Inc. Our purpose has always remained the same: to give scholarships to high school graduates from the Lakemoor community who choose to go on to higher education.

We exist with the help of family and friends, and volunteers from the community. Our organization has two major fundraisers a year; one in August selling glow necklaces and novelties at LakemoorFest and a classic car show in September, on the Sunday after Labor Day. All our profits go into the scholarship fund; every person helping out at either of our events is a volunteer.

Our organization is always looking for new faces to help volunteer, or to join our board.

Currently, we are accepting applications for scholarships from Lakemoor residents. Please Click Here to download the application

Deadline: April 18, 2014

Movie In The Park

Come and join us for the 1st Movie in the Park for 2014.

This year's 1st movie will be Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2.

The movie will be held at Heritage Park on April 26th at 8:00pm.

Picking up precisely where its hit predecessor left off, Sony Pictures Animation's Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 finds Flint Lockwood (voice of Bill Hader) invited to join the Live Corp Company, and use his gift for invention for the good of mankind. Just as young Flint prepares to go to work for his hero Chester V (voice of Will Forte), however, the young genius learns that his water-to-food machine is not only still functional, but it's also started cross-breeding animals with food. Now, in order to prevent a growing army of "foodimals" from escaping isolation on an island and wreaking havoc on the mainland, Flint and his loyal group of friends will have to do battle with such delicious, but deadly, hybrids as the ferocious tacodiles, slithering apple pie-thons, and vine-swinging shrimpanzees. Saving the world from these rampaging monstrosities won't be easy, but if anyone is up to the task, it's Flint and company. Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn takes the reins for this sequel also featuring vocal contributions by Anna Faris, James Caan, Kristen Schaal, Terry Crews, Andy Samberg, Neil Patrick Harris, and Benjamin Bratt. Author: Jason Buchanan
