What is Lakemoor Dollars for Scholars?

Lakemoor Dollars For Scholars® encourages students to pursue their education beyond high school by making available scholarships to graduating seniors from Lakemoor, IL.

A completely grassroots undertaking, this tax-exempt nonprofit scholarship organization is 100% volunteer operated.  Dedicated to expanding access to higher education, Lakemoor Dollars for Scholars members and scholarship recipients seek out community support and involvement through a variety of activities, including our participation in Lakemoor Fest in selling glow necklaces and novelty items, and our Charity Car Show in September.

Lakemoor Dollars for Scholars is proud to be one of nearly 1,000 affiliates of Scholarship America®, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to mobilizing support for students getting into and graduating from college.

Quality education is the key to coping and competing in an increasingly complex world. Rising costs are closing doors to higher education. Through Lakemoor Dollars for Scholars, every high school senior living in Lakemoor has the opportunity to make a strong, collective statement about the importance of education beyond high school.
