Police Officer Tom Schaffer of the Lakemoor Police Department, passed away on November 21, 2012. Officer Schaffer was a respected 11 year veteran of the Lakemoor Police Department. He is survived by his ex-wife and 10 year-old son.

Officer Schaffer is remembered for always having a smile on his face and treating everyone with dignity and respect. He was a pleasure to work with and will truly be missed by all. The flags of the Village facilities are flying at half-staff in honor Officer Schaffer.

Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, November 26 at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 S. Bartlett Road in Bartlett. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, November 27 at 9:15 a.m., with a Mass at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Carol Stream.

The Village is accepting donations for his 10 year-old son. These donations can be made at the Lakemoor Village Hall at 28874 IL Rt. 120, Lakemoor, Illinois 60051 or at the Lakemoor Police Department, 27901 Concrete Drive, Lakemoor, Illinois 60041 during regular business hours.
 

Lakemoor Village Offices will be closed during the funeral service on Tuesday.
