Reverse 911 Call of July 21, 2012

On July 21, Wauconda Dispatch received a call from the subjects' wife at approximately 9:12PM; She stated that her husband had been drinking and was depressed, and was threatening suicide.

Lakemoor Units responded, and took position outside the residence, and attempted to make contact with the subject.

At one point, the subject, armed with a handgun, walked out of the house on to the back porch/deck area. Lakemoor Police attempted to engage the subject in conversation, and to have him put his weapon down. The subject went back into the house for "another drink and a smoke".

Because of the gravity of the situation, assistance was sought from McHenry County Sheriff's Police SWAT team. MCSO dispatch utilized a reverse 911 system to call nearby residents to evacuate for their safety.

The subject exited his house and was apprehended without incident by officers on the scene. The subject was transported to NIMC for an evaluation. The incident was resolved without incident by 1140PM.

The Village of Lakemoor has completed the water tower repainting project.

Since the project has been completed and the water tower is back on line, the Village has eased  the outdoor watering ban for customers on the Village Water System.

We are requesting that customers follow an odd/even schedule for routine outdoor water use, such as lawn watering. The schedule will be as follows:

  • Outdoor water use between
    New Color
the hours of 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on odd-numbered days of the month if your street address is an odd number (i.e., 233 Rand Rand., 3515 Main Ave.)

  • Outdoor water use between the hours of 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on even-numbered days of the month if your street address is an even number (i.e., 234 Rand Rd., 354 Maple Ave.)
  •

We have not determined at this time how long the mandatory odd/even watering schedule will be in effect, especially given the extremely hot weather conditions and lack of significant rainfall. We will notify customers when the restrictions are revised

on through our website.
