What is Dollars for Scholars

The Dollars for Scholars Lakemoor Chapter gives scholarships to worthy students heading for colleges or trade schools. The scholarships established by the Lakemoor Dollars for Scholars Chapter is open to Lakemoor students under the age of 21, who wish to continue their education beyond high school.

Lakemoor DFS is a locally operated and supported foundation. Operated by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, the purpose of DFS is to expand access to educational opportunities by involving or assisting our community in the support of students and encouragement of educational achievement.

Lakemoor DFS is a chapter affiliate of Citizen's Scholarship Foundation of America, Inc. (CSFA), a nationally recognized nonprofit student aid service organization.

By completing a common application form, students become eligible for scholarships.Applicants receive points for a variety of qualities, including financial need, academic standing, school activities, and community involvement.This way, the selection process is objective and non-discriminatory.
