IRS and Microsoft Scam
I am receiving calls that some of our seniors are getting calls from someone stating they are from the IRS Fraud Department and insisting that you owe money. The IRS will not call you.

The caller will sound persistent and will phone repeatedly. He even has a phone number that he leaves. Don't Send Money Click here for the letter from the IRS

The other scam going on now is from someone claiming to be from Microsoft.
Do not give anybody any personal information and do not allow them access to your computer.

Wadsworth Road Project Update

The existing pavement in the middle stage (about 10' wide at the centerline of Wadsworth Rd & Green Bay Rd) has been removed and excavation began last week.  The new storm sewer crossings have also been extended through the 10' wide middle area.  Electrical work has continued including conduit installation & concrete placement for handholes (electrical enclosure box) on Wadsworth Rd from Delany Rd to Green Bay Rd for the new traffic signal interconnect.

This coming week - 8/25/2014:

  • Excavate for the new pavement, place aggregate base and start paving the middle area along the centerline of Wadsworth Rd & Green Bay Rd from edge of new pavement to about 10' wide
  • Continue grading & landscaping parkway as weather permits (this will include the use of portable arrow boards/signs to move traffic around the work area)

The current traffic pattern will be in place for about 2 weeks as the middle area is built.  Then all lanes of traffic will be moved to the new pavement.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Please drive safely.

The Health Department's Animal Care and Control Program tracks pet vaccinations and rabies tags, investigates animal bites and complaints of nuisance and neglect, as well as impounds stray animals. In 2013, the program issued more than 76,000 rabies tags, captured 1,328 strays and responded to 1,920 reports of animal bites. Your input is needed for the new dog exercise area

The Lake County Forest Preserves is seeking public input on development of a new 40-acre off-leash Dog Exercise Area in northeast Lake County at Waukegan Savanna Forest Preserve.

Forest Preserve planners are gathering ideas from the public on possible design features and amenities for the new dog park. To engage in the design process and to share your ideas, visit the Lake County Forest Preserve Idea Exchange website and complete a short survey by September 22, 2014. Suggestions will be considered for inclusion in the proposed dog park design.

Located within the larger Waukegan Savanna Forest Preserve, the entrance to the new dog park will be at the northeast corner of Delany and Yorkhouse Roads in Waukegan. Tentative plans for the new dog park include a gravel loop trail, mowed-grass trails, a separate enclosed area for smaller dogs to use, an 80-car parking lot, toilets and drinking water for dogs and people. Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2015. Completion is expected in late fall 2016. The dog park is the first phase to be implemented in the Conceptual Master Plan for Waukegan Savanna.

Four uniquely different and highly popular off-leash dog parks
are currently available in forest preserves in Wauconda, Lindenhurst, Lake Forest and Libertyville. An annual or daily permit
and a dog are required for entry.

For questions regarding the survey, call or email Susan Hall at 847-968-3270,
