Do You Know about Your Transit Options?  

Most people are familiar with Pace bus and its fixed routes, but do you know about paratransit? There are more than 50 known paratransit services across the county primarily serving seniors and people with disabilities. PACE provides ADA paratransit and Dial-a-Ride and there's other services provided by townships and senior centers. 10 Years of Reuse-A-Shoe!

New Clothing and Textile Recycling Program

Blue Kids Lake County
In honor of National Child Abuse Prevention month, The Children's Advocacy Center - a division of the Lake County State's Attorney's Office - and the 19th Judicial Circuit's Family Violence Coordinating Council, co-hosted the Lake County Blue Kid's Kickoff event. Blue Kids Lake County is a community partnership focused on awareness and prevention of child abuse. The core values include cherishing children, supporting families and building strong communities. April is Fair Housing Month
To promote Fair Housing Month, local organizations and businesses, government agencies, and housing providers from across Lake County will provide information about housing and other social services at a housing fair April 29 in Waukegan. More Info 
Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption Outreach Sessions
The Chief County Assessment Office and the Lake County Township Assessors Association will hold several public outreach sessions to assist residents in completing the 2014 Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Application for taxes payable in 2015; as well as service taxpayer needs on other homestead exemptions available. Residents will work one on one with a staff member to complete the necessary forms. The Senior Freeze Application is due by July 1st, 2014.
