Waukegan Firefighters Win World Record at International Competition
On Oct. 27, Firefighter Tom Clasen, Battalion Chief George Bridges,
Firefighter Al Ramos, and Lt. Tony Soler, (Pictured Left to Right) won the over 40 category of the Combat Challenge World Championship Relay with a world record time of 1 minute and 16 seconds, in Las Vegas, NV.

The Combat Challenge Competition annually attracts fire departments from all over the world.  The race encourages firefighter fitness and included 5 rigorous tasks that simulate a real fire emergency situation. I am very proud of the way our Waukegan Fire Fighters represented our community and their own dedication to excellence.

Fire Chief Ricco Farrell said, "Their outstanding fitness level continues on in the performance of their jobs serving and protecting the citizens of Waukegan. The city of Waukegan should be highly honored to have these world champions on our fire department."
