NoHo Farmers Market Every Saturday
The NoHo Arts District Farmers Market (nohomarket.org) on Saturdays offers freshness and fun every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the block of 5200 Bakman.
It is a California Certified Farmers Market as well as a market for arts and crafts.
"This is a great opportunity for our members not only to promote the Chamber, but your own business each Saturday," says executive director Michelle Gilstrap. "You only need to let me know when you would like to reserve the booth, and I will work out a rotation schedule."

Congrats to Jackie Keene: Councilman Paul Krekorian District Two New Deputy Director
Jackie Keene
Jackie Keene has been named District Director for Paul Krekorian's Council District 2. Jackie has dedicated her professional life to the City of Los Angeles for 25 year. After three years as a field representative helping the communities of Sunland-Tujunga and North Hollywood, Jackie assumes her new role.
Jackie began her service to the city in 1988, working as the West San Fernando Valley Area Coordinator for Mayor Tom Bradley. She helped with operations in then-Councilmember Laura Chick and Wendy Greuel's office, while also working for stints in Assemblymember Bob Hertzberg's office.
Along the way, Jackie
has crafted a reputation as a constituent service specialist, working closely with neighborhood groups to tackle tough issues. She led the effort on behalf of Councilmember Paul Krekorian to help
Of course, Jackie's pursuits extend well beyond Los Angeles. An avid athlete, Jackie has completed marathons and recently returned from Tanzania where she conquered Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

L.A. FAMILY HOUSING GOLF TOURNAMENT: SEPT. 16
L.A. Family Housing, a nonprofit that provides housing and services for homeless and poverty-stricken families and individuals, is holding a golf tournament on Sept. 16 at the prestigious Angeles National Golf Club in Sunland. Included are the golf tourney, a hole-in-one contest for a new car, a barbecue lunch, a putting contest, a silent auction and a cocktail reception. Non-golf packages are also available.
Funds raised will help provide not only housing but also employment counseling, medical and mental health services, parenting classes, child care and financial literacy education. The agency, based in North Hollywood, is the leading provider of homeless, safety-net and affordable housing services in the San Fernando Valley.

UCNH Health Care Council Meets on Aug 19th to Plan New Health Fair for October 6th, Roy Romer Middle School
Fit 4 Business, Fit 4 Life is this year's theme for the UCNH Chamber's Health Fair that will be held at the Roy Romer Middle School on Sunday, Oct. 6th from 11 to 4.
The meeting is at West Coast University, 10 a.m. to 11:30 in the 2nd Floor conference room. Sign in at the Front Desk. Park in the West Coast University Parking Structure.
"With expanded hours, and the expanse of the Roy Romer Middle School Athletic Field and the school facilities, we know this will greatly enhance the Health Fair this year, " Vic Viereck, Chamber President stated.
Sponsorships begin at $10,000 and go down to $150 for members, so they are priced for everyone to be able to come in to the fair and help the community be healthy.
