New Help Feature in Development
For Version 9.1, we are working on a new way to access the user guides. Currently, users navigate to the Client Login on the website, and then go to Documents & Tutorials. In order to find the relevant section, they must search keywords, or browse to the appropriate document and use its table of contents to find the page with the relevant information.

Coming soon, most screens will have a "Help" icon in the top bar. This will directly open the associated user guide. Along with this, we are in the process of rewriting our user guides in HTML. This will give you the ability to find the information you need using either navigation on the left side of the screen or by searching the page using CTRL F. Additionally, screen shots will be shown as an expandable thumbnail. Using these new tools, you will be able to get direct and immediate access to help while on any system screen. For example, if you need to run a Renewal Report, but need some explanation of the parameters, clicking the "Help" icon at the top of the screen will open the Management Reports User Guide, with the "Renewal Report" section at the top of the window.

User Forum Updates
Fundraising, Auction and Volunteer users on V9.0 and higher can now access the user forum from the main and module menus. And a
newly added user forum feature allows you to subscribe to entire categories (Fundraising, Traffic & Corporate Support, Auction and Volunteer Management), and to entire forums such as Fundraising News & Software Updates. Be sure to see the article below to learn how you can sign up.

End of Support of ASNA
The release of Version 9.1 for Fundraising, Auction, and Volunteer systems completes the transition of development from the classic programming environment to the .NET programming environment which started with Version 8.6.3. With the release of Traffic Version 9.1, anticipated for the end of this year, all Allegiance products will be 100% .NET. This allows us to use the SQL database environment without the need for ASNA licenses.

Moving away from the constraints of ASNA allows us to develop purely for SQL which will give us the benefit of using SQL commands that will speed up some of the processing, especially in reports.

As Windows continually adds updates
, the ASNA product we are using might become less reliable. This means we are unable to guarantee that ASNA will always work with new operating systems whereas MS SQL Server will always be compatible.

To allow us to develop purely for SQL, Allegiance will no longer support ASNA databases after December 2014. Allegiance does support MS SQL Server and My SQL. Another option is to move your database to the Allegiance Cloud. Please contact Ryan in sales with questions about transitioning from your ASNA database to a SQL database or moving to the Allegiance Cloud.

Please keep the ideas coming as work on Version 9.2 will be starting soon!

Using the List Code Table
lists
In V9.0 of the Allegiance Fundraising System we introduced a new table called "List Codes". The list code table gives you the ability to use the list code assigned by the vendor; allows more detailed ROI analysis on acquisition direct mail; and preserves the ability to analyze the use of a list over multiple campaigns using static Allegiance program codes.
