LEED Project Delivers ROI

SSC project, 100 M St., located in Washington, DC, recently achieved LEED for Existing Buildings Silver certification. The property, managed by CB Richard Ellis, is a 12 story, 256,000 square foot building used primarily for commercial office space. With a focus on efficiency and occupant comfort, the project team optimized the HVAC and lighting systems for superior performance, resulting in reduced utility loads and an improved interior environment. The building, originally constructed in 2008, is a model of energy efficiency and earned ENERGY STAR certification with a current score of 80.

Earning LEED and ENERGY STAR certification has been shown to provide many benefits including productivity gains, operating cost reductions, employee health and safety, improved stakeholder relations, and recruitment and retention. As the green building consultant on the project, SSC utilized our years of expertise with existing buildings and the LEED rating system to ensure an efficient certification process that met project goals and delivered return on investment.
