SSC Clients at the Industry Forefront
In the age of information, many industries are driving toward total transparency. As demand for sustainability continues to grow, organizations are being tasked with quantifying and disclosing their environmental impacts across product life cycles. Early movers are realizing substantial benefits, both internally and externally, to life cycle impact disclosure. SSC has the privilege of working with progressive clients that are leveraging the transparency movement to be market leaders.
SSC clients are committed to better understanding and improving their products. Utilizing Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) enables them to provide added value to customers, reach new markets, and rise to the forefront of their respective industries. SSC has performed dozens of LCAs and developed numerous EPDs over the years. Notably, one of SSC's clients, Superior Essex, recently published its first EPDs based on the LCAs conducted for their various product lines.
Superior Essex, a global leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of wire and cable products, strengthened its position in the market by releasing two industry-first EPDs covering 25 different products.Committed to quality and transparency, the data gathered during the LCA will enable Superior Essex to effectively focus its efforts on the largest environmental impact drivers, improving operations and reducing overall life cycle impacts. The holistic view of these products facilitated by LCA empowers Superior Essex to implement product stewardship in a meaningful way; and in doing so, foster a more sustainable business model.

Seminar Successfully Supports Attendee Objectives
Last month, SSC hosted a hands-on seminar led by Tad Radzinski, President of SSC, titled Corporate Responsibility Revolution - Strategy to Success. Tad brought together a diverse group of organizations and attendees for a full day of practical education and interactive workshops. Each participant focused directly on their sustainability initiatives and left with an action plan to make real progress in their organization. It was very rewarding to see the attendees from different companies, and at different levels in sustainability implementation, collaborate to develop realistic solutions to common challenges.
Following the overwhelming success of this seminar, we are looking forward to next year's (topic and dates TBD). We invite those of you who missed the seminar and are looking to broaden your sustainability skills to review our website and take advantage of the many complimentary resources that will help you advance your sustainability strategy .
