Library News
The STM library is happy to announce three great events for the children of St. Thomas More coming up in the next four weeks.
Monday, December 3 Children's author Michael Keane will be coming to read his Christmas book The Night Santa Got Lost: How NORAD Saved Christmas to the children in grades K-3. This modern version of "The Night before Christmas" is a heartwarming tale that honors the U.S. Military and incorporates NORAD's Santa Tracking tradition. Thank you to Ava in Ms. Mullan's homeroom and her mother for arranging this wonderful opportunity.
Wednesday, December 5 Author Adam Gidwitz will be coming for grades 5-8 to read excerpts from his award winning novel A Tale Dark and Grimm. Two children all alone in a dark and grim world run away from their own story and into eight other scary fairy tales. Both 5th grade book club members and the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) in 7th and 8th grade have read this book and give it wonderful reviews!
Both of these authors will be signing books while they are here. You may purchase the books yourselves and have your children bring them to school, or use the attached order forms.
Shhhh! Please let us know if this is a gift about which you wouldn't want your child to know.
Book Order Form
Saturday December 8 Once again, our annual Barnes and Noble book sale will take place at the Barnes and Noble store at 7 Corners between 9am and 10pm . This year I am delighted to announce that the STM Youth Choir will be performing in the store at 10 a.m. Besides the choir, we will have teachers reading their favorite books for students, starting at 9:30 a.m. If you can't make it on Saturday, you have another way to order. Please order on-line between December 8 and 15 using our school code 10914273. Each time you use the code, a portion of the sale will come back to our school for the purchase of more books for the library. Feel free to pass out the code to all your friends and relatives as they get ready for the Christmas holidays. It is good nationwide.
