A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Warren Zimmerman 52810

It's Spring in Gig Harbor and as the seasonal traffic increases on your Chamber website it important to remember that the information that we distribute to visitors is only as current as you make it. We depend on you for updates or changes to your business information. The question to ask yourself is when was the last time you checked your profile and what you describe as your business? Please read Jamie's article below with tips and recommendation for getting the best results for hits to your profile page.

WEBSITE UPDATE

What Does Your Profile Say About You?

Did you know that the Chamber website receives on average 4,000 hits per month? Are you asking what this means to you and your business? When people visit our website many times they are searching for a particular service or general field description. On our website homepage, visitors will click "find a business" and on this page there are three ways for a potential customer to find your business.

  • Business Name
  • Contact Name
  • Category

Odds are the potential customer does not have your business or contact name. However, what they do have is a word that they will use to describe a particular service or business. They will type this word into the category search engine and a list of businesses is generated. Did you know within your profile there is a category section where you can type keywords that describe your business and services? The category section within your profile is where this list is generated. For example, if you are a physician but the word physician is not reflected in the category section within your profile, when a customer types in physician your company will not be in that generated list.

So today, log in to your profile, click on info, and scroll down to the category section. Type in any words that would describe your business/services and click update. Then test it out to make sure your business name comes up when you search for the words you added in the category section. If you have any questions please contact
