A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Warren Zimmerman 52810
What another great day in Gig Harbor the sun is out and the skies are blue; a perfect way to start the week. Today I'm attaching a link to the Pierce County Winter Newsletter for you to review. Hans Kueck does a fine job with this and other forms of communications to the businesses in Pierce County. As always there are some interesting articles and training opportunities but the main reason for including the link today is to introduce you to the people at PCED listed on page 4. These individuals work with us here at the Chamber on a regular basis and may be able to help you with an issue in their areas of expertise. Please take a minute and see what they have to offer local businesses and enjoy the day.

AMBASSADOR OF THE MONTH:  Vickie Howell

CONGRATS TO THE FEBRUARY AMBASSADOR OF THE MONTH VICKIE HOWELL OF MARY KAY COSMETICS!

My name is Vickie Howell,

My business is Mary Kay Skin Care and Cosmetics.

I love having the opportunity to enrich women's lives by helping and teaching them how to take care of their skin with our number 1 products. I also enjoy teaching them how to find the perfect look for them, whether it be an everyday business look, or a dramatic look for that special function!

I have immensely enjoyed the opportunity to serve the community of Gig Harbor through being an Ambassador with the Chamber of Commerce. Being an ambassador has allowed me to get to know many other business owners in the community in a way that would not be possible without this involvement. It is so exciting to watch our business community grow with many new businesses, as well as established businesses joining the Chamber. The Ambassadors are always available to help with the growth of local businesses.

Please let me know how I can be of help to you whether it be skin care and cosmetics, or gift giving services and especially how I can support your business.  Feel free to contact me anytime at 360-471-3609

Lunch & Learn Workshop - Estate Planning Essentials

Featured Speaker: Ralph W. Flick, Attorney

Harbor Place in Rainier Dining Room

1016 29th St NW, Gig Harbor  253.853.3354

Estate plans can range from very simple to quite sophisticated. If you have a well-drafted estate plan in place, you will ensure that your estate passes to whom you want, when you want, and is carried out in the manner you've chosen. You can rest assured that your family won't have to endure the public process and costly matter of probate. More importantly, you can avoid the devastating effects of the hefty estate tax.

With the start of a new year and many changes in the law, this timely seminar will cover the basics of:

* Wills

* Trusts

* Healthcare Directives

* Powers of Attorney

* Estate Taxes

There will be opportunities for questions and answers during this presentation.  Ralph's offices are located in Gig Harbor,

Washington and he is licensed to practice law in Washington State, as well as in California.  For twenty years, his primary focus has been on Business Law, State and Federal Tax and Estate Planning. Call Harbor Place to RSVP 253.853.3354

ROBIN BEESON WELLNESS DIETITIAN

Our health does not improve with diets and quick fixes, our health can only permanently improve with a natural eating and permanent changes in our lifestyle. The health of our nation is deteriorating. More people than ever before are suffering with excess weight, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes and pre-diabetes, autoimmune conditions like multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis and much more. Diet-related diseases...heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes and more are the number one killers in our country!

These diet and health issues sound overwhelming, but truly the solution is simple and doesn't require you to buy anything but healthy food. Join me for my free film series on the subject of nutrition and begin your journey to improved health.

Monday, March 4th - "Hungry for Change: Your Health in Your Hands"

Monday, April 1st - "Food, Inc."

Monday, May 6th - "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead"

All films will be shown in the University Place Library Meeting Room 1, located at 3609 Market Place W, Suite 100, University Place, WA 98466. The films will begin promptly at 6:30 PM.
