Customer Satisfaction Survey
We want to be the very best at what we do, and we need feedback from our clients to help us out with that.  If you have not already done so, please take just a moment to complete the Customer Satisfaction Survey that we've set up.  It's short -- only 10 questions, and would mean the world to us!

Thank you!
June 2014

Summer is certainly upon us!  You must admit, though, we had a pretty long, mild Spring.

We hope you have some fun activities/trips planned.  Or maybe you're just going to stay-cation in your own paradise.  Remember that you're not one of your Koi, so you need to stay hydrated no matter what you're doing!  And if you need a "pond sitter" during your absence, let us know and we'd be happy to send someone by while you're gone to make sure everything is A-okay (advance booking required).

And speaking of vacation schedules, the office will be closed from 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27th, until 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7th.  The phones will be monitored on a daily basis, so if you have an emergency, feel free to call and someone will get back to you within 24 hours.

Be sure to always watch your kids around water!

Ponderings
Hot Topics for Hot Weather

It's officially hot out now, and it would be a good idea to have a cheap emergency pump/air stone on hand in case your circulation system goes down in the middle of one of those 110 degree days or, more importantly, during the 100 degree nights.  Unfortunately, we can't always can get help to you right away, and if there's no circulation at night when the plants are exhaling there's a danger of suffocating your fish, especially if they've gotten quite large.

And speaking of large fish, if your fish have grown quite a bit over the years, in either size and/or number, and keeping your water crystal clear is becoming more of a challenge, you may need to consider upgrading your filtration, or increasing the size of your pond.  This is a common theme that we are seeing lately.  People love their fish, and therefore tend to feed them pretty well.  As a result, they can outgrow the environment that was originally designed and installed for your pond.  If that's the case, no worries, there are several options.  Get more information.

Another item of concern as the weather gets hot: bacteria storage.  You MUST keep your beneficial bacteria and enzymes indoors -- and NOT in the garage or on the back patio!  Any temperature over 90 degrees will kill it, even if exposure is fairly short.  Then you're simply wasting money, and we all hate to do that.  Proper storage practices are the answer: cool, dry location.

Now would also be the time to make sure your night  lighting is in order so that you can enjoy your outdoor environment after the sun goes down.  If it's not, we can help!  Get more information.

So, pop a top, or pour a cool one, put your feet up, watch the kids having squirt gun fights, and enjoy the dog days of summer!
