How best can Ottawa help Canada's energy resources contribute to cross-country prosperity?
MLI Senior Fellows Sean Speer and Ken Coates, in a new commentary and Globe and Mail op-ed, weigh in with the answer.

Another series of Great Canadian Debates is on the way.
On April 18 in Toronto Jonathan Kay and Chris Alexander will debate: "The terrorist threat has been grossly exaggerated in Canada".
On May 2 in Ottawa Elizabeth May and David Frum will debate: "Mass resettlement to Canada is the best thing for the country, and the best thing for Syrian refugees".
On May 31 in Ottawa Conrad Black and Irwin Cotler will debate: "Canada's Supreme Court has usurped the proper role of Parliament".

Inside Policy celebrates Sir Wilfrid Laurier
Sir Wilfrid Laurier was one of Canada's greatest prime ministers.
The February 2016 edition of Inside Policy, with articles by Brian Lee Crowley, Sean Speer and Patrice Dutil, gives him his due.

How has Canada's newly-elected federal government performed on foreign policy during its first 100 days in office?
Brian Lee Crowley, in a recent event at Carleton University, offered his thoughts.
The world's investors aren't going to wait for Canada to get its act together on liquefied natural gas, MLI Senior Fellow Philip Cross  told CBC.

Canada's new government has some important decisions to make on how to best protect Canadians from violent extremists.
Thankfully, MLI is here to offer guidance.
Senior Fellows Christian Leuprecht and Sean Speer authored a new commentary designed to help the new government design a policy that balances protecting freedom with disrupting terrorist plots.
Meanwhile, Senior Fellow Alex Wilner authored an op-ed for the Sun chain on Canada's revamped ISIS mission. In the Globe and Mail he wrote about why Canada needs to catch up to its allies in considering how to deal with a new front against Islamic State in Libya.

Leading the way on climate change
MLI staked out in early 2016 a place at the forefront of the debate on climate change.
Senior Fellows Sean Speer and Douglas Auld offered the new government ideas on a solution that would combat the threat without upending Canada's economy in a new commentary.
In the Financial Post, Speer and author Ian Lee penned an op-ed on why Canada's energy resources have a big role to play in China's fight with climate change.
