Tattoo Concerns

Henna-based tattoos are often offered on cruise ships and popular vacation destinations. However, some may contain a substance called PPD. This shortens drying time and lengthens the life of the tattoo. It will also turn the henna paste black. Natural henna is a brown-green or red.
According to medical professionals, PPD can cause skin irritation - causing redness, blistering and even scarring. It has also been reported that exposure to PPD can sensitize the immune system, increasing the risk of a full-body rash if individuals are exposed a second time. The only approved cosmetic use for PPD is as a hair dye.
Henna by itself is not harmful, but the FDA has not approved the naturally occurring red henna for the skin. Reaction to PPD is common, while a henna reaction is rare, according to dermatologists.

Rid yourself of canker and cold sores

Are canker or cold sores giving you trouble?
One of the best solutions for them is a probiotic. Probiotics are good bacteria. They fight against bad bacteria in your body. A quality probiotic will help prevent canker or cold sores from starting.
Once a sore forms, L-Lysine can help end it faster. It is an amino acid that seems to stop the herpes virus from growing.

Joint Health - Does Your Body Ache?

Do you wake up in the morning with an achy shoulder, knee or hip? Do you suffer from arthritis? Are you regretting your younger years when you didn't take care of your body or, do you have a sport's injury that still gives you pain? Glucosamine may help relieve some of these aches.

Glucosamine supplements are widely used for arthritis, sports injury, cartilage damage, etc. It can be combined with any many different ingredients to enhance the glucosamine's performance and effectiveness.

Glucosamine is an amino sugar that is thought to promote the formation and repair of cartilage (the tough connective tissue that cushions the joints). Glucosamine is found in healthy cartilage.

Which Form - HCL or Sulfate?

Glucosamine is an unstable molecule, which needs to be combined with a carrier molecule in order to be absorbed into the body. HCL and Sulfate are the carriers of choice.

Sulfates are found in almost all natural water. Some people choose the HCL form over Sulfate because the concentration of Glucosamine is higher and it has less sodium. However, several studies have shown that Glucosamine with Sulfate is more effective than Glucosamine with HCL.

Other supplements found within Glucosamine are:

Chondrotin

A carbohydrate that is a cartilage component thought to promote water retention and elasticity and to inhibit the enzymes that break down cartilage.

MSM

It is the organic form of sulfur. MSM is found naturally in most foods, plants and soil. When foods are over-processed, MSM is depleted. It is thought to enhance the effectiveness of Glucosamine. MSM is also used for muscle or joint pain.

Glucosamine is better for you body than NSAIDs (Ibuprofen or aspirin) and hs far fewer side effects, according to studies. Studies have also shown Glucosamine to be more effective than NSAIDs.

Glucosamine also works great for your pets who suffer from joint pain.

Glucosamine quality varies widely. It is important to seek out a reputable manufacturer. You do get what you pay for! It will take one to three months to see a significant difference, so continue taking your supplement.

Cherokee Custom Script Pharmacy carries several different forms of glucosamine combined with the above ingredients. Call us or drop by so we can discuss which combination is best suited for your needs.
