"In the one Spirit we were all baptized into on body" 1 Cor 12:13
Dearly Beloved in Christ,

Through the anointing of the Spirit at baptism we become members of one body - the body of Christ.  We do not become members of an institution as we might become members of a social club or a health club.  We are limbs of a new humanity.  The old fallen humanity that we inherited from Adam has been put to death and we have been incorporated into a new humanity - the humanity of Christ.  The divisions of the old humanity that separated us: gender, ethnicity, socio-economic standing no longer have any power to do so.

In this new humanity, as members of Christ's Body, we are all integral, equally necessary for the healthy functioning of the body.  And we have each received gifts through the anointing of the same Spirit that are uniquely suited to each one of us to enable the body to continue Christ's work and to reveal his glory.  One cannot say "the church should .... [fill in the blank]" for we are the church!  If you wonder what it is you have been gifted to do think about what you would like the church to do - chances are what you would like of the church is what God has equipped you to accomplish as the church!

In this season of Epiphany - this season of shewing forth or manifestation - this season of the revealing of God in Christ - may we remember that as Christ's body, the church, we have also been gifted as epiphanies of Christ.

In the Peace, Grace, and Love of our Lord,
Rev'd Sarah+

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
We had an uplifting Diocesan Convention on Saturday (you can read Bishop Greg's address here) followed by an uplifting Annual Parish Meeting on Sunday!

Four vestry members were elected by acclamation: Susan Burley ('16), Gloria Grant ('16), Roy Lassiter ('16), and Susan Pelham ('14) - Susan is completing an unexpired one-year term and as such will be eligible to be nominated and elected for a 3-year term next year.  George Madill was appointed Sr. Warden.  Bob Borr was elected Jr. Warden.  Susan Burley was elected Treasurer.  Ethel Copes was elected Clerk.

Due to your faithfulness in financially supporting the Lord's work here we ended the year with a surplus of over $15,000 which is currently in the Contingency Fund, and will possibly be available, upon discussion and vote by the vestry, to be used towards some of the many capital repairs still needed around the campus (see pages 18-19 of the Annual Parish Report for a list of some of those needed repairs).

Our 2013 budget shows a $20,000 increase over last year.  Over half of that represents our commitment to pay our Diocesan tithe in full this year.  Our current pledged income represents 69% of our total budgeted income with the remaining 31% coming from non-pledged income, facilities rental income, income from special gifts, and fundraising income.  We have set our Fundraising Committee quite a task in increasing by almost 50% last year's budgeted fundraising income.  I pray you will continue to wholeheartedly support their fundraising efforts - and perhaps to think about helping with the planning and execution of those efforts by serving on the committee.  As you can see it will be important for all of the pledges to be fulfilled as the remaining 31% represents almost $80,000.

As we prayerfully continue to walk in the ministries the Lord calls us into we trust that he will financially provide for those ministries through the faithful hearts of his people.

Please see my report and all the officer and commission reports to be encouraged by all the ministry that has taken place by God's faithful people over the last year.

Here is a link to a .pdf file of the Annual Parish Report.  If you would like a copy of the financial reports please call or email Terri to send/email you a copy.

PICTORIAL DIRECTORY
Louise was able to take a number of up-to-date photos for our photo directory.  If you were not able to have your photo taken on Sunday you have one more opportunity next weekend after services.  Here is the current photo section of the directory (new photos have not yet been uploaded).

If your are a new member please let us have your information to enter into the directory.  If you cannot be present next weekend and want an updated photo you can email Terri a .jpeg however many of those we have received are very poor resolution so please be sure to send us a hi-res .jpeg

I want to take this opportunity to give thanks for Rev'd Lee and Janet Ecola's ministry amongst us for the last nine months.  Our prayers go with them as they explore other ministry opportunities.
