Halloween is here (already) and we hope Islanders enjoy a rain-free, fun evening. Council continues work on the Protected Land Management Plan - they will meet tomorrow in special session on this topic (see below). We hope you can attend and offer your input.  As usual, please visit the Town's website regularly for other current news and information.

All owners must obtain a Town issued dog permit and colored collar for the dogs to wear while on the Island. 

 

Permit tags & collars are available at Town Hall (2050-B Middle St)

Protected Land Management
Council continues work on the Protected Land Management Plan.  Two special council meetings are scheduled for 2015 specifically for this topic.

Safety reminders for Trick or Treat
* Travel in groups with adult chaperone
* Use reflective gear and carry a flashlight
* Use cross-walks and well-lit areas.
* Eat candy after getting home and looking through candy with parents
* Golf carts are for day-time use by a licensed driver

Drivers - thank you for using extra caution on Halloween, particularly as it is a weekend night.

Annual Fire Station Holiday Lighting

Make plans to join your neighbors at this perennial holiday favorite.  WHS Chorus has confirmed participation this year!  Parking will be at a premium due to newTown Hall/Police Station construction. We encourage you to bike or walk to the event.
New Town Hall/Police Station- Construction Update
The new Town Hall/Police Station Project is underway.  The new Town Hall/Police Station will be located on Middle Street, between the Fire Station (2050 Middle) and J. Marshall Stith Park. Target completion: July/August 2016

Town Hall visitors may park in the designated parking spaces or along the right-of-way on Station 20 1/2 Street from Middle Street to Gull Drive (no streets close).  Visitors requiring handicap parking may access marked spots following signage on Station 20 1/2. 


J. Marshall Stith Park 
The Park playground and tennis courts remain open and are not effected by construction. Construction workers will work within the construction fencing.  Construction workers are authorized personnel, only, are allowed to enter the fenced construction site. Parents are encouraged to accompany children to the Park and/or discuss safety near construction sites with older children who will play in the Park without adult supervision.
