As this e-newsletter goes to publication, Town Staff continue to work toward full recovery from the historic flood rains/Hurricane Joaquim over October 2-4, 2015. All owners must obtain a Town issued dog permit and colored collar for the dogs to wear while on the Island.

Post-Storm Information

Storm Debris Removal
Charleston County will complete resident curbside storm debris collection by tomorrow (Saturday) morning.  As of this newsletter, it has not been determined whether subsequent collection will be available.  At present, the County anticipates arranging a separate vendor to handle hazardous material collection (date/time TBD).

Please watch for Town (Nixle) alerts or check the Home page of the Town's website for updated information.

Uninsured Flood Loss  
Currently Charleston county joins many other SC counties for eligibility for federal declaration for Individual Assistance.  The State does not yet have a federal declaration for Individual Assistance, but you may begin the application  process now.  Call (800) 621-3362 or find the application onhttp://www.disasterassistance.gov
Charleston County Library has computers available for use if you do not have internet access.

Annual Fire Station Holiday Lighting
(5:30PM) Friday, December 4, 2015
Make plans to join your neighbors at this perennial holiday favorite.  WHS Chorus has confirmed participation this year!  Parking will be at a premium due to newTown Hall/Police Station construction. We encourage you to bike or walk to the event.
New Town Hall/Police Station- Construction Update
The new Town Hall/Police Station Project is underway.  The new Town Hall/Police Station will be located on Middle Street, between the Fire Station (2050 Middle) and J. Marshall Stith Park. Target completion: July/August 2016

Town Hall visitors may park in the designated parking spaces or along the right-of-way on Station 20 1/2 Street from Middle Street to Gull Drive (no streets close).  Visitors requiring handicap parking may access marked spots following signage on Station 20 1/2. 


J. Marshall Stith Park 
The Park playground and tennis courts remain open and are not effected by construction. Construction workers will work within the construction fencing.  Construction workers are authorized personnel, only, are allowed to enter the fenced construction site. Parents are encouraged to accompany children to the Park and/or discuss safety near construction sites with older children who will play in the Park without adult supervision.
