Many thanks for casting your vote in the recent municipal election (certified results below). A number of Council meetings are scheduled for May, including a public hearing for the FY16 Municipal Budget and a Council Retreat (see below).  We hope you can attend one or more of these meetings to observe your Council at work, and, to share your voice.  As usual, please visit the Town's website regularly for current news and information.

Dog Permits & Collars at Town Hall

All owners must obtain a Town issued dog permit and colored collar for the dogs to wear while on the Island. 

 

Permit tags & collars are available at Town Hall (2050-B Middle St)

Winter collection for household garbage continues until the end of May.  Summer collection schedule begins Saturday, May 30th (after Memorial Day weekend)

Truluck Construction, Inc continues work on this project with projected completion by late May/early June, weather permitting.
STATUS:  Demolition on courts is underway; playground & fields remain open at this time.

Greenbelt Nature Trails Phase I:  
Station 16 Nature Trail

Carolina Dock & Marine initiated work in April on the boardwalk/bench construction component of the Station 16 Nature Trail.  CLICK:  RFP (Project Scope)
STATUS:  Construction completion projected for late May, weathering permitting.  A grand opening ceremony will follow thereafter (early June).  

New Town Hall/Police Station
On Wednesday, May 6, 2015 (3-5PM), the Town Administrator and Town Architect (Creech & Associates Architectural Design) met with interested residents who "dropped in" at the temporary Town Hall trailers to review the new Town Hall/Police Station construction drawings.

New Fire Engine Has Arrived ! SI Fire Station
The new fire engine is at the fire station and ready for service to the Town. 

Gravity Sewer Line-Middle Street Municipal Campus
Eadie's Construction finalizes installation of the gravity sewer line in support of the New Town Hall/Police Station project.  Vehicles may access Gull Drive from Middle and Station 20 Streets while Station 20 1/2 Street is closed.  
STATUS:  Road should re-open within the next 2-3 weeks, weather permitting.

Please remember that all trash must be placed in roll-out carts. On the date of collection, roll-out carts should be placed on the curb by 7:00AM and removed by 7:00PM.  Yard debris cannot be placed in plastic bags.
