February is half-over and we all hope that means winter will wane and spring will be here soon!  Today is the 150th anniversary of the H.L. Hunley confederate submarine attack against Union forces during the Civil War.  The public is invited to a special ceremony (free) tonight at Breach Inlet, where it all began 150 years ago (more information below). Tomorrow night is the Town's council meeting -  public is encouraged to attend.  Meanwhile, please visit the Town's website for other current news and events.

Venue: Walkers travel from Charleston through Mt. Pleasant ending their final leg on Sullivan's Island (finish line at Fish Fry Shack).
Town Projects - Update

The Town continues progress on a number of ongoing projects. The status of a few:

Town Hall/Police Station/Park Improvement Project
Council selected Hill Construction as Construction Manager at Risk (CM at Risk).  Hill Construction and Creech & Associates (architectural designers) are working together to blend public feedback on design options with construction cost and expertise.  The Public Facilities Committee of Council is tracking progress on this project.

Next Steps:  Expect a 3rd community meeting in the near future (date/time TBA).  This meeting will be an opportunity for the public to see more detail on design options and provide feedback.

Four candidates responded to the Town's RFP for realtor services in late January. Council voted to negotiate with Tim Reese and Dunes Properties of Charleston, Inc. for a contract to provide real estate services with the sell of some Town real estate.
