SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR POLL MANAGER
Sullivan's Island Election Commission seeks volunteers to serve as poll managers at the May 7, 2013 election. 

To qualify, state law requires that each poll manager attend a brief training class on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 5:00PM at the Board of Elections and Voter Registration (4367 Headquarters Road, North Charleston, SC 29405).

You may volunteer to work the entire day or a portion of the day. We'll work with your schedule!

Town Ordinance Sec 21-130E(5) allows political signs to be posted in yards up to two (2) weeks before an election and stipulates signs must be removed within one (1) week of the election (remove by Tuesday, May 14, 2013).

Surfman James Coste will be posthumously awarded the Silver Lifesaving medal who drowned circa 1898 while saving the life of Ned Schacte in waters off of Sullivan's Island.   
Posthumous 
The public is invited to join descendants of Surfman Coste (the extensive native SI Coste family) and Ned Schacte (Charleston Mayor Joe Riley's grandfather) at this moving ceremony.
