The new year is almost here! When making your 2013 resolutions, why not resolve to share your time and energy serving in a civic position, helping your fellow residents?!
We have two Board vacancies to fill: Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. Plus, municipal elections are this year for the mayoral seat and three Council member seats (candidate packets become available in January).
Reminders: Polar Bear Swim is January 1st - please use caution driving in the Community Commercial area. Also, dog permits and business licenses renew in January 2013.

TRAFFIC NOTE: To control traffic flow during this popular event, the following changes have been made to traffic on January 1st:
Road closure: Myrtle Avenue between St 22.5-St 22
No Public Parking: Areas near/around Community Commercial District along Myrtle Avenue, Jasper Boulevard, I'On and Atlantic Avenues (between Stations 21-23 Streets), Station 21 and Station 22.
Inbound Island traffic should watch for directional signs for other travel changes. Please obey no-parking signs and traffic cones along rights-of-way.

During this winter months, Sullivan's Island Elementary school children are congregating roadside to catch the
bus very early, before sunrise. Please use extra caution and slower speeds when navigating through the streets during the high bus collection and drop-off periods:
Mornings - starting around 6:15am - 8:00am
Afternoons - starting around 3:00pm - 4:30pm
